"HEAVY INTERMEDIATE" HOT ROLLED STEEL
FMS steel profiles, specifically engineered for window and doors, are hot rolled in limited lots from 100% recycled steel. The profiles are shipped from Switzerland to our facility in container loads of 20-foot sections from which windows and doors are cut, shaped, welded and finished. With dedicated craftsmanship, each window and door is individually fabricated following explicit, client-approved CAD drawings.
FINISH
FMS’s standard powder coat finish is a two-coat process that meets or exceeds AAMA 2604-05.
Process:
- Sand blast
- Phosphate wash, rinse and dry
- First coat (Gray): Drylac 69/90500 Zinc Rich, oven cured
- Second coat (Color): Drylac Series 38, oven cured
INSTALLATION
FMS delivers and installs its products anywhere in Texas and adjoining states. At FMS, the folks who fabricate are the folks who install. We meet construction schedules and guarantee proper function and aesthetics.
WARRANTY
FMS residential products include a Ten-Year Transferable Warranty.
FMS commercial products include a Three-Year Commercial Warranty.
GLAZING
Our engineered glazing system is a major contribution to the lasting value of FMS windows and doors. We have worked closely with glazing professionals to design a system that provides quality, cost-effectiveness and ease of installation – and meets or exceeds the proven industry standard for weather seal, security, and ease of future replacement of glass.
THERMAL VALUES
Many municipalities have energy codes that require U-factor and SHGC ratings for fenestration. These ratings are based on the entire component, not just the glass, and can only be obtained through testing by a National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) approved laboratory.
FMS windows have been tested by NFRC approved laboratories. Values are per NFRC 100-2010 and 200-2010 Standards. Documentation is available upon request.
PENETRATION TESTS
FMS windows have been tested for Design Pressure, Air Infiltration and Water Penetration by an independent laboratory per AAMA/WDMA/CSA Specifications. Documentation available upon request.
ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT
- Steel windows and doors have a low carbon footprint from raw material acquisition to decommissioning.
- FMS profiles are 100% recycled steel (aluminum is typically 31% recycled).
- Steel is three times stronger than aluminum thus allowing for slimmer sections and using less material.
- The median life cycle of steel windows is 50 years, aluminum windows 40 years.
- FMS relies on solar/wind renewable energy sources in its manufacturing operations.
- FMS recycles all metal waste created during fabrication.
- FMS is committed to environmentally responsible finishing systems.
